A toll free number is a telephone number that can be called at no charge to the caller and it delivers incoming calls to your local business number, your mobile telephone number, your home number, or to your Burke voice mail number. Toll free numbers start with the 800, 888, 877, or 866 and vanity toll free numbers are also available. Use multiple toll free numbers to track call volume and Caller ID's for different advertising campaigns. Your toll free number is completely portable. Local Voice Mail Numbers
Local voice mail box numbers come in five varieties and are web enabled:
- Voice mail message box - plays a greeting, and records a message
- Menu box - provides choices
- Announcement box - provides information
- Call transfers - used to screen calls with announcement information and allows a qualified caller to be transferred to your telephone number.
- e-fax box - returns a fax tone, captures images and emails them
These basic voice mail boxes can be assembled into modules with choices that customize the way your calls are processed. If you cannot answer your calls, they can be forwarded to a local voice mail number with choices to separate calls for different people or to transfer urgent calls to another number for special handling. Messages can be listened to with any phone or over the net by connecting to our web server. Message notification can be sent to any email address, mobile phone, or pager. The entire voice file can be emailed to a mobile phone where it can be played. Once a voice file is received by a phone, you can play it even if the mobile phone cannot get a signal. Unlike mobile phone voice mail where your messages reside on the local cell site - if you cannot get a signal, you do not have access to your voice mail messages.
